The 1954 WLS Family Album:

"Arkie" (Luther Ossenbrink)

Curator's note: Luther Ossenbrink ("Arkie") was about as durable as they came at the Prairie Farmer station. You can also see him featured in the 1932, 1934 and 1941 WLS Family Albums.

Right: Arkie, the Woodchopper, looking for something to catch the ears of listeners, examines sheet music of new song.

Left: To Arkie, relaxing at home usually means planning the next ourdoors jaunt with Vera and Laddy the pup. He loves hunting, fishing, tennis, bowling, horses and dogs. His first job: playing guitar and fiddle for a square dance at $4.00 for six hours. "Mrs. Arkie" was Vera Firth, Perry county, Ill.
