Carol and Ron---and Carol and Don...

Carol Marin's decision to leave WMAQ-TV following Channel Five's 10 pm newscast of May 1st, 1997 meant the end of two teams that had embodied the finest traditions of broadcast journalism in Chicago.

One of the teams---Carol Marin and her co-anchor Ron Magers---was what the viewers at home saw.

The second team---Carol Marin and her producer Don Mosely (aided over the years by researcher Wendy Frame and her successor Susan Evans)---was an almost constant inspiration for all those who worked at Channel Five during the Marin-Magers years.
