The 1996 Radio
Hall of Fame Broadcast---a production of Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications---aired
Sunday, October 27th, 1996 over a coast-to-coast radio network of more than fifty
stations.
Inducted into the
Radio Hall of Fame during the course of the broadcast were NPR's Susan Stamberg,
WRKO's Jerry Williams, FCC Commissioner James Quello, WGN's Jack Brickhouse and
the late Wolfman Jack.
Casey Kasem hosted
the broadcast. Jim Bohannon was the announcer. The Georgia Frances Orchestra and
Chorus provided the live music.
The Curator wrote
the script for this hour-long
star-studded extravanganza.
