Coming
eventually: The saga of the Fairall family and their
westward migration from Prince George's County to Garrett County,
Maryland and eventually to Iowa City, Iowa. To be featured: the
extramarital (and sometimes drunken) escapades of state senator
Samuel
Husband Fairall (whose mistress, Mollie Claire Moorman, published,
probably with the help of newspaper editor John
P. Irish, a tell-all account titled "An Iowa Woman's
Vindication") and the tragic tale of his brother, the Rev.
Herman
Husband Fairall, a Methodist minister (their sister, Annie
Rachel Fairall Heard, was
one of my great-great grandmothers).
