Ballads and Melodies...
Margaret
Sweeney...
The deft fingers
of Margaret Sweeney on the strings of the golden harp bring you sweet old melodies
of the Emerald Isle. Her skill with this classic instrument was learned from Enrico
Tramonti, world famous harpist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She has also
studied in Paris, Berlin and Liepzig, and is harp soloist with the Chicago Little
Symphony and Women's Symphony Orchestras. She always brings a smile with her. |

William
O'Connor...
William O'Connor,
WLS Irish tenor, was born in Fort Scott, Kansas, and started practicing law in
the home town. After three years he took down his shingle, and for several years
you have heard his sweet tenor voice on WLS. When Bill sings Mother Machree---well,
just listen next time. |

Bradley
Kincaid...
The Kentucky Mountain
Boy, who has won the hearts of thousands by his sweet ballads of the mountains.
Bradley "found himself" on WLS, when he began, a little timidly, to
sing the old songs he had learned from his father in the old cabin home in Kentucky.
Since then the whole country has learned to sing these ballads. Bradley and Mrs.
Kincaid have twin daughters and a little son. |
