The Quintet
Curator's note: The photo below was taken in the early months of 1957 at the Custom Sound recording studio in Evanston, Illinois. Lovers of jazz will note that three members of the group (who were then students at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois) later had successful professional careers in music.

Update: I've just learned that percussionist Steve Bagby died June 27th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I'll post an obit as soon as I have a chance.
