("Today's Children" Family Album)

Mother Moran in rocking chair

Curator's note: Louis Roen was one of the longer-lived staff announcers at NBC-Chicago. In the early days of video at the Merchandise Mart, news director Bill Ray tapped him to become one of channel 5's first on-air news readers (where he became a member of the team that included Hugh Downs and Clifton Utley).

'Today's Children' has come to you as a presentation of the Pillsbury Flour Company." When you hear the deep, pleasant voice of Mr. Roen giving you this statement at the conclusion of each "Today's Children" program, do you realize all that these words imply?
