Curator's note: The five-minute video referenced on this pages features Doc Severinsen and the "Tonight Show Orchestra" (of blessed memory) during the course of the gala celebrating the opening of WMAQ-TV's NBC Tower facilities. This was not broadcast forthe public. Rather, it was performed for those in attendance (primarily sponsors and ad-agency folks) at a rather elaborate and very costly bash in one of the still-uncompleted studios on the second floor of the building.
