About the Korshaks

A few basic Korshak facts:

As far as I can tell, all the Korshaks in the United States (excluding those who may have come here following the demise of the Soviet Union) are descended from the six sons of Bella (1836-1910) and Tevye "Teddy" Korshak (dates of birth and death unknown) of Kiev.

The six sons are:

Max (1955-1910)
Mendel (1862-1942)
David (1963-1928)
Reuben (1865-1943)
Abraham (1866-1934)
Harry (1976-1931)

The first two Korshaks to emigrate to the United States were Mendel and David who arrived early in 1882 (sailing from Hamburg on the SS. Suevia.

The Korshak emigration continued for at least a decade (Mendel made at least one return trip to bring back additional family members.
